The initial concept for Steve Yu’s architecture ideations in the buildings have roots in a quote from the La methode graphique dans les sciences experimtales by Etienne-Jules Marey seminal works. La méthode graphique dans les sciences expérimentales et principalement en physiologie et en médecine, was originally published in Paris by G. Masson in 1878.
Marey’s book captured his groundbreaking use of custom instruments to turn motion and physiology into vivid graphs, sparking a revolution in scientific visualization and paving the way for biophysics and even the birth of cinematography. His methods were initially applied to physiology, the mechanics of the circulatory and respiratory systems, before extending to human and animal locomotion.
Steve uses human dynamics as we see how he has simplified human mechanics into a structures by projecting lines connecting them into a building as he connects then turn these structures vertically. The use of elevation, plan and section for the structure are designed, and the building concept is then 3D printed for a final materializes. From a static table and cometic movement of the body.
