Many students can turn in a supplemental portfolio/project(s) for college admissions. This includes may applying for those students applying to multiple disciplines and majors for each school they may consider options. Natalene Gunawan proposed to create merchandise and apparel designs for her robotics team. She was lead designer and had the responsibility to organize and adapt to the team focusing on the team’s reputable history while maintaining her brand and include STEAM inspired designs.
According to her:
“Team Sprocket’s apparel is dedicated to representing the team with a sense of style and professionalism. This apparel is seen at numerous competitions, evets and outreaches by hundreds of parents, students and sponsors.”
While working and outside activity, Natalene worked with her team and at WCAAD to get multiple perspectives. As the lead designer, areas to consider were the following: the teams10yr anniversary in competing. The main logo is designed until a refinement was decided. A selected bold font and clean type was adjusted. This simplified and easy to read t-shirt and jackets were completed after many versions were drafted. The final design is a commemorative image of the teams’ values, and years in games they have participated in. The apparel jacket(hoodie) refinement showcases all teams’ projects illustrated and represented. Sizes and color options, while keeping the brand can accommodate individuals. Other accessories and apparel are sweatpants, phone case, hats and tote bags.
