The annual EDI Media Children’s Drawing Contest announced the winners on August 23, 2025. Students from West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) won top awards of different age groups.

The drawing contest has been held annually for 26 years. This year’s theme is "Art and I: Young Hearts Paint the World," inviting children to use their brushes to tell the story of their personal encounter with art.

Divided into the Children's (3-5), Junior (6-9), Youth (10-12), and Teen (13-16) groups, the competition encouraged participants to create their own unique artistic worlds, transforming fleeting moments of inspiration into lasting works of beauty.

The criteria of judging include creativity, color, the techniques of the drawing, and how related the content is to the themes of the contest.

The contest was more than just a competition; it was an inspiring celebration of imagination and a testament to the power of art in a child's life. This sweep of accolades highlights the students' well-rounded development and their individual strengths in artistic expression.
