Field Trip at Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach

Today June 22, 2026 students from West California Academy of Art and Design took a field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach CA. Student not only drew from life but also were able to learn about the environment and the effects of the environment in human health, pollution and awareness. This was also an opportunity to speak to students on potential marine biology jobs and technology and equipment for education, museum displays, interior and architecture design. Students sketched focused on movement, color and its application to their own work, and composing with environment and moving people as well as inspiration for future works. The most important aspect of the field trip was to create an awareness of operational ways to sustain and protect life in our eco system and be conscience of our planet and decisions we make .
