Didi Fu has constructed a zine that communicates and showcases illustrations on how to enjoy “hotpot”. She has designed a folded zine that is both fun and educational. Along with 3 dimensional elements of a hotpot spoon, traditional tassel and stickers for reading in a portable, creative, and calming activity for readers. She includes games puzzles and activities catered to young and older viewers. She has showcased her process, rendered illustrations, color that is inviting and typography that cis appealing. Her designs in the overall book cover layout folds and sets an unforgettable overall experience.
Zines (short for magazines) are self-published, non-commercial booklets produced independently, often featuring personal, niche, or subversive content, typically created using DIY methods like photocopying and stapling. They serve as creative outlets for marginalized voices, counterculture expression, and personal storytelling, often, though not always, produced in small batches.
