WCAAD Enrichment Activities-Museum Trips

Taking students to visit museums is a long-standing tradition of WCAAD extracurricular activity，and it has become a regular part of our summer program. The intention here is to provide a lively art classroom, offering students richer and more diverse artistic resources and a new kind of educational experience, while encouraging open and extensive discussion between students and teachers. 

Through this activity, students have the opportunity to observe the textures of master paintings up close, study the techniques of renowned artists, and experience the true scale of artworks. This provides them with a fresh artistic perspective and greatly enriches their overall art education.

The museum environment helps students engage with different ideas and perspectives relevant to their own lives, fostering critical and creative thinking skills. These abilities are essential to their future success. It has been proven that regular exposure to the artistic atmosphere and works of museums provides children of all ages with a solid foundation for intellectual growth and development.

Through interactive sketching exercises based on masterpieces, students broaden their horizons and engage in a “dialogue” with great artists by relating their own creative ideas to the works they encounter. For students, this is an unforgettable immersive learning practice. Through a new stimulus amplifying their imagination, they understand cultural disparities and social exchanges to then in turn engage the world in visual arts.
